My journey in 'The Biz' began back when I was around 8 years old. I would push the kitchen chairs together to make a stage and would use the ice-cream scooper with some string attached as my microphone. I would sing my heart out to ABBA and dream big dreams. Sometime between then and the early 90's it became clear that I just wasn't going to make it as a rock star.....behind the scenes was going to be the place for me.

I trained at the NZ Film & Television Training School. With that under my belt, I borrowed money for a one-way air ticket and I ventured out into the great unknown. I moved to Auckland and talked my way into a job at Oceania Audio. Before I knew it, I was away on tour with my first professional musical theatre production. There was no looking back after that!

Eventually though, the time came to settle down and stop living out of a suitcase. Marriage was next, and after a brief stint as a pub owner/operator, three kids popped out. The decade plus that followed was all about family.

By then it was time for another adventure. Off I went to work at The Court Theatre as Properties Co-ordinator on their summer musical, Mary Poppins. This was a great fit. I had always been quite artsy and DIY. Combine these with a love of shopping, someone else's money and it's practically the perfect job!

I stayed at The Court for 3 years, until whilst moonlighting on a school production one day, I realised that props hire was virtually non-existent in Christchurch and here was a real opportunity should someone want to seize the day. That 'someone' turned out to be me.........and so my Christchurch based props hire and manufacture business was born in 2019.
